About us

Elliott Todd is a flameworking artist known for pushing the boundaries of scale and technique in borosilicate glass. With over 17 years of experience, they challenge the misconception that flameworked glass must be small, creating life-sized sculptures and intricate glass drawings that transcend the materiality of glass.

They began their education at Penland School of Craft before working in production studios and as an assistant to other glass artists. Seeking to further develop their artistic voice, they later earned a BFA from Tyler School of Art. Their time at Tyler reinforced their commitment to flameworking, despite the medium’s underrepresentation in academic glass programs.

A dedicated advocate for the expansion of flameworking in contemporary glass discourse, Elliott Todd has taught internationally, including in Saudi Arabia, where they helped establish accessible glassblowing programs through the Ministry of Culture. Their work has been exhibited in galleries across the country, continuing to challenge industry norms and perceptions of what flameworked glass can be.
